AS 160 silage

This hybrid is a complete novelty in our market, designed exclusively for making high-quality silage from whole plant corn and its use in feed of the ruminants, especially dairy cows and beef cattle.
High quality silage of this hybrid comes from reduced lignin content (component of cellulose) in corn plant, which significantly increases the digestibility and usability of stored feed. Simply put, the quantity and quality of meat and milk depend on the quantity and quality of the silage that you feed the livestock with. There are considerable differences in hybrids from which silage is prepared, so there are also some differences in the quality of silage, which livestock breeders in developed countries realized and seriously approached to the selection of specific hybrids for silage preparation.
Besides all above mentioned, AS 160 silage hybrid has a number of benefits that should be taken into account when choosing hybrids for silage making:
* It has an exceptionally high plant, with numerous leaves, often even up to 12 leaves above the ear.
* The corncob is tight, releases the moisture from the grain very slowly, and extends the optimum time for silage making.
* It has a large ear with very large kernels, mostly with soft endosperm (floury grain) therefore it is easily digested by animals.
* It is intended exclusively for silage making, but it isn’t recommendable for ear picking or kernel harvesting because of plant lodging.
It is suitable for growing on all types of soil and in all growing conditions. For high silage yields apply intensive agricultural technology, and especially good results are made by using irrigation systems.
Recommended growing density is around 70.000 plants/ha.
AS 160 Silage can be successfully used for biomass and biogas production.

FAO 600, 120-125 days of vegetation.
