Breeding company AS Hibrids was founded in 2004 with the name PRINOSMAKS as a part of company CHEMICAL AGROSAVA, and its main activity is breeding and cultivating i.e. creating new and better corn hybrids. The company name has been changed in 2011 into AS Hibridi because of the popularity of the brand carrying the same name.
The AS Hibridi brand was created with the idea to bring a new quality on the Serbian market. On creating them worked a hard working breeder team made of three selectionists, Doctors of Science and a great number of agricultural engineers and technical assistants. The breeder team is equipped with modern machines for wide and intensive testing of new hybrid combinations in all agroecological conditions in Serbia as well as in neighbouring countries. Every year in AS HIBRIDI's breeding field, over a thousand new parental lines and more than 2000 new hybrid combinations of corn are created. Every new hybrid combination, AS HIBRIDI examines in a network of micro trials at seven different localities and in a network of macro-strip trials on over 40 localities in Serbia. Every newly created hybrid combination is examined at leat for two years before begining with the offical registration on trials at the Ministry of Agriculture of Serbia. Only the best new hybrids that have passed the two-year testing in the process of official registration in comparison with the best commercialy widespread hybrids have a chance to enter the market and fields of our esteemed producers.
Such rigorous testing network has so far passed nineteen registered AS hybrids from FAO 400 to FAO 700 maturity groups. The number of hybrids is increasing year after year.
The best commercial AS corn hybrids are in the process for official registration in several EU countries, where in previous trials they have proved their undoubted value.
